Meet Your Speech Therapist

I was born and raised in south Florida. In high school my mom introduced me to the field of speech therapy and I never looked back. I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Central Florida and masters degree from Florida State University. Shortly after graduating, my now husband received a job offer in Texas and we said goodbye to the sunshine state. We have loved being Texans and it was in this great state that my career in speech therapy began and continues. 

In the clinic setting, I worked within many areas of the field and within all age ranges which allowed me to connect with a multitude of extraordinary children and diversify my skills . As I continued in my career I was drawn to early intervention and working with toddlers/pre school age children. In this age range I feel I can have the greatest impact on a family/child and set them up for success in developing functional, meaningful, and independent communication skills. I am also drawn to this population due to my love for being silly and having fun. 

In 2025, I decided to make a change. The inspiration for New Leaf Speech Services is two fold. Firstly, I want to inspire the families I work with with the idea that you can “turn a new leaf” with your child’s communication at any time. Secondly, I started this business to “turn a new leaf” for my family. After becoming a mom I realized I needed a different balance to prioritize my family as well as my passion for speech therapy. New Leaf Speech Services provides me with the flexibility to support your family and mine. At the center of this practice is family, and helping families function at their highest capacity. 

Outside of my time as a speech therapist, I love to spend time with my family - my husband, daughter, son, and 2 labrador retrievers. I enjoy watching tv, spending time outdoors, getting together with friends, and trying new recipes.
